Urumqui or Urumqi or Wulumuqi, the end of the world
Xinjiang has an extensive area and a long history. It is the most important section of the ancient Silk Road, endowed with large quantities of cultural relics and historical sites. As a result of the region's dry climate characterised by scarce precipitation, drought and sand storms, all kinds of relics have survived the natural tear and wear of the past thousands of years.
